Anuj Dagar’s Journey to Vietnam: A Dream Come True Traveling has always been more than just moving from one place to another for me—it's been about creating cherished memories that last a lifetime. My journeys to incredible destinations like Tungnath Chandrashila, Kedarnath, Rudranath, and Madhmaheshwar have shaped who I am today. These treks and pilgrimages were not just physical adventures but profound lessons in love, patience, and respect. They taught me about determination in the face of challenges, the hunger and thirst that fuel the human spirit, and the beauty of connecting with people and their stories. Having undertaken these soul-enriching expeditions across India, I now dream of exploring Vietnam—a country that blends breathtaking landscapes with rich history and vibrant culture. I have never traveled abroad, and being selected for Dreams Take Flight – Love Connection by Vietjet would be an honor and a dream come true. This journey would mark my first step into global travel and ignite my passion for exploring the world. Vietnam captivates me with its iconic destinations. I would love to visit Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), Hanoi, and Hoi An—each offering a unique blend of tradition and modernity. The Golden Bridge, famously known as the Hands of God Bridge, is a marvel I’ve longed to see. The dramatic landscapes of Vietnam promise adventures that resonate deeply with my love for the outdoors. The vast rice terraces, steamy jungles, and awe-inspiring caves offer experiences that feel tailor-made for someone who finds solace and inspiration in nature’s grandeur. One of my dreams is to embark on a caving trek in Phong Nha and explore the Son Doong Cave—the largest cave on the planet. Trekking and caving in Vietnam are more than activities; they are a gateway to a world of incredible food, vibrant village life, and unforgettable human connections. I believe these are Vietnam’s finest tourism experiences, and I’d recommend them to any fellow adventurer. Vietnam’s cuisine also fascinates me. I can already picture myself savoring dishes like chicken fried rice, chicken noodles, bahn mi, and the aromatic flavors of Vietnamese coffee and egg coffee. The combination of rich flavors and fresh ingredients reflects the heart of Vietnam’s culture, and I can’t wait to immerse myself in its culinary wonders. Beyond the landscapes and food, I am deeply intrigued by Vietnam’s history—particularly its resilience. Rising from the scars of war, Vietnam’s transformation into a modern marvel is a testament to the strength of its people. I look forward to exploring its war history, visiting sites that tell stories of struggle and triumph, and learning how a nation moves forward with hope and determination. One of the most exciting parts of this journey would be connecting with the beautiful Vietnamese people. As a young individual who had never flown until my first year of college, the world of travel has opened my eyes to limitless possibilities and inspired my journey as an innovator in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, as well as a passionate artist and photographer. In my first year of pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, I was fortunate to work on a project that addressed a real-world problem using IoT. Alongside three talented international students, we won first prize at the IoT Championship. This achievement not only boosted my confidence but also earned me an invitation from the government tourism board of Oman, which I used as an opportunity to surprise my parents with their first international trip. During this trip, I encountered a widespread issue, Color Vision Deficiency (CVD)—that many individuals face but often goes unaddressed. This sparked a passion in me to delve deeper into this subject. Upon returning to India, I dedicated over a year to researching and developing a project focused on detecting and addressing CVD. My efforts were recognized in 2023 when I was honored with the ISTE Award for Young Engineer Innovators for the Best B.Tech Project in Computer Science & Engineering, further securing a grant to continue my work. Beyond my work as an innovator, I have a deep love for the arts. I’m a glass painter, using vibrant colors to bring stories to life, and photography has become another medium for me to express myself. Capturing moments, whether it’s a fleeting expression, the play of light on nature, or the details of cultural traditions, has always been my passion. I believe that art is a bridge between cultures, and it helps me see the world through a different lens. This passion drives my desire to travel, explore, and learn from different artistic traditions. A trip to Vietnam would be an invaluable opportunity for me to immerse myself in a rich tapestry of culture, art, and nature, further fueling my creative and innovative process. From Vietnam’s centuries-old glass art traditions to its breathtaking landscapes, I am excited to explore and draw inspiration. I also envision collaborating with local artists, exchanging ideas, and applying what I learn to enhance both my technological and artistic projects back in India. In a world that thrives on innovation and creativity, I believe experiencing diverse cultures is crucial for developing holistic solutions to pressing issues.
