We now think we were destined to be together. I was a chemical engineer posted in one of the remote location in Gujarat. He was a Software engineer in Gurgaon. He had a recently broken relationship while I was in a state to not trust guys enough. While my mom was trying to search a suitable alliance for me, I decided to relocate to Gurgaon- for a better lifestyle, and I moved into IT sector. I took an apartment on rent and started settling into my new life. It was a casual day and I was buying my grocery from the shop near my apartment, when a guy called out my name. I was seeing this person for the first time. I found him good looking enough to start the conversation with the most basic question- do I know you? And he was like - No you don’t, but would you mind having a coffee with me to know me? I was clueless and all I could say was what do you know about me to ask me out? He said enough to keep you engaged on a coffee date. Turned out that he was living in the same neighbourhood and coming to the same grocery store as me and many a times crossed path with me. I was impressed with the research he did about me before approaching me, but I could not say a yes straight away and left saying that I will think about it. A few weeks passed and he patiently waited. We kept meeting on the store, but he didnot asked me again or made the situation awkward. And finally one evening I said yes! We had an our coffee date - and he we spoke for hours - and I could sense that he was all that I wanted in my life partner. I came back home and kept thinking about him and finally at 3.30 at night I could not resist calling him and saying I kind of like you - let’s date. And rest was a history. We dated for only 6 months before I asked him to marry me - to which he said yes. We did have our share of challenges to get the family ready as well, but in the end everything fall into place in a picturesque way and we have been happily married for 5 years now.

Despite born and bought up in same small city and same community, we never met each other, even didn't know about each other. Our uncles knew each other very well. They suggested we should get married as we both will make a perfect couple. We met, liked each other after talking for hours but said no to marriage. Then we again bumped up to each other in a relative marriage function and again spent hours with each other to know each other better. She didn't like many of my things and same was here but we knew something is still attracting us. We decided to give our relationship a try. We started meeting each other whenever we got the time, late night chats, calls started and slowly we started feeling lonely without each other. We were like two body but one soul. We decided to get married and on one auspicious day we tied the knot with each other with 7 promises to full fill each day of our life together and after life as well.

I met my soulmate after a waiting period of about one year. The story is: ours is an arranged marriage. My mother was looking for a suitable groom. She found Sanjeev in one matrimony function. She sent a letter proposal for him. And the letter came back saying ' 'address not found' . The hunting was still going on. After about 9-10 months in one more matrimony function again she saw Sanjeev 's father. She realised that Sanjeev is still in search of the bride. She approached his father and then all happened with in no time. The reason for such a long wait was just ' wrong address ' i.e instead of N8 it was given as N4. That's the interesting story of our 34 years of married life.
