As a child, I heard tales of Vietnam's history—of struggle, survival, and hope—in school textbooks. Now, as an adult, I long to experience Vietnam for myself. To walk through the bustling streets of Hanoi, to taste the food that has shaped generations, and to understand a culture that has inspired me. I have a deep passion for travel. While travelling, we meet different people and get a chance to familiarize ourselves with different castes, religions, and cultures. How amazing it is! The earth becomes so small. All the people get close to each other. Vietnam is a beauty after its rebirth from the war. The country is changing fast, but right now it’s a great mix of old and new, traditional and modern. My aspirations to travel to Vietnam are driven by a desire to explore the country's incredible natural beauty, immerse myself in its rich cultural heritage, savor its world-famous cuisine, and learn from its people. The remains of the Vietnam War are preserved in sites like the Cu Chi Tunnels and the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City. Visiting these sites would provide invaluable insight into the country’s turbulent past, highlighting the resilience and tenacity of its people. I am eager to set foot in this fascinating country and experience all that it has to offer, both as a traveller and as a global citizen seeking to learn and grow from the world around me. If I Got a Chance to Visit Vietnam: A Radio Jock’s Dream Journey As a Radio Jock in Delhi, I’m constantly surrounded by the rhythm and energy of music, but if I ever got the chance to visit Vietnam, I know it would be a life-changing experience. Vietnam’s rich culture, vibrant history, and unique musical landscape would not only broaden my personal horizons but also enrich my work on the airwaves. I imagine walking through the bustling streets of Hanoi, where street performers play the đàn bầu and đàn tranh, instruments that I’ve only heard about but never fully experienced. The blend of traditional Vietnamese folk music with modern beats would give me a deeper understanding of how cultures evolve through sound. From the peaceful countryside to the energetic nightlife of Ho Chi Minh City, I’d soak up the diversity that Vietnam offers in every melody and rhythm. A trip to Vietnam would be more than just a vacation—it would be an opportunity to connect with a new culture through its music. I’d return to Delhi with stories to share, new sounds to introduce, and a fresh perspective that would undoubtedly resonate with my listeners.

Working as an International Business Development Manager has given me the chance to combine my love for travel, culture and food with my career goals. The last few days, I had the amazing chance to travel to Thailand and China, countries which are fascinating with their impeccable combination of the old and the new. Every journey is an eye opener as well as an opportunity to expand one’s worldview and this is exactly what motivates me to communicate my travels through my social media platforms. In Thailand, I enjoyed the hospitality of the people and the unique taste of their dishes. I learned about the traditions of the Thai people on my trips to the floating markets of Bangkok or on my attempts to taste the spicy som tum salad. Business meetings with me were sometimes occasions where cultural exchanges took center stage as my Thai partners would take me to their favorite places that were off the beaten track. When I came to think of China, I found grandeur in its history and marvel in its modernity. Socializing in the gleaming skyscrapers of Shanghai and walking through the old hutongs in Beijing made me feel the vast historical unknowns that are existent in the country as well as the progressive mindset. Eating, for example, Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), turned into a fantastic ceremony, with each meal seeming to be a narrative.
